Under the Bed

1996

Age Advice: 4+

Under the Bed is a play  originally written for Theatre Centre by Brendan Murray in 1996. This new production toured to primary schools with audiences aged 4 years and over in 2009.

The story is a touching tale about the power of a child’s imagination and the comfort of stories.

“Mo and Jo are trying to sleep,
Can you hear anything?
No
Can you smell anything?
No
But AAAAGGHHHH…… there’s something under the bed!”

With help from their friend the Hot Water Bottle, Mo and Jo travel to the glaciers of the Arctic and to the sands of the South Seas, in search of shut eye. Join them on a rollercoaster adventure and be home with Mum in time for breakfast!

"This is a fresh, nicely pitched children’s show that deals quite subtly with children’s fears large and small. ... This show moves at a good pace and is cannily pitched to incorporate different age levels. ... The younger ones were rapt throughout."
