Hollyquinade

by Chris Larner

1981

Age Advice: 5 - 11

Hollyquinade is a play written by Chris Larner for Theatre Centre in 1981. This play toured to audiences of children aged 5 to 11.

This play is about Columbine and Mr Duodenham being exploited by their boss Sir James Ghoolie. Ghoolie has an issue with ‘lower class citizens’ and places himself high above everyone else. Over the years, by earning everyones trust, he found himself in a position of power over what went on in town. He owns various properties and streets, and even has roles in the justice system. It would seem that the workers have no chance in proving any injustice. However, hope reappears when Columbine meets Harry Quinn, who helps her see that she deserves better and they embark on a very eventful journey that involves many twists and turns!
