Our Past Shows
Our founders Brian Way and Margaret Faulks pioneered theatre created specifically for children and young people. Brian Way’s vision was that this should happen in schools, rather than in theatres, so that the environment was familiar and so no child had to sit at the back of an auditorium.
Being a theatre company founded in the 1950s means that, firstly, the work we’ve produced has evolved over the course of seven decades as each generation has developed how we make our work. It also means that lots of the information about these shows are contained in archives, newspaper articles, and history books (from here all the way to Canada - and we’re hoping to piece together more over the next few years!).
If you were part of a Theatre Centre show’s past (either within the show, the company or the audience) and have a story, photo or memory connected with it, get in touch!
Watch this space for more glimpses into our past, and as we complete the list of all our shows!
