"Moving work of unmistakable integrity"

The Guardian, Amongst The Reeds Review

His home is dust. His friends are few. His hands are as rough as the seas he has crossed.

In a radical reimagining of Charles Dickens’ classic novel, we follow one refugee’s journey, buffeted between borders and bad company.

Twist transforms Oliver’s struggle for sanctuary into a modern tale framed by the global crisis fast defining the 21st century.

Teeming with Dickens’ audacious characters, this production marks a bold collaboration for Theatre Centre, pioneers of new writing for young audiences.

Rising-star Chino Odimba has written for National Theatre and was shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize.

Theatre Centre’s first adaptation in over a decade, this retelling of a Victorian masterpiece will challenge intolerance with urgency and compassion.

  • What a wonderful performance! The story was seamless, insightful and beautifully played out, with fluid scene changes that complemented the action; the characters were all engaging and complex; the acting was quite superb. Thank-you, thank-you.

  • Today, Wednesday 8th November you came to our school unity college and I literally couldn't take my eyes away!! it was so good! You were all such good actors and I felt like I was watching the actual characters not actors doing it!! You were all so good and also the way you swapped roles were so good too. Keep doing what you do.
