Arts Council England NPO Announcement

27 June 2017

We are delighted to announce that we will remain a National Portfolio Organisation and have funding from Arts Council England for the next 4 years, taking us into 2022 and our 69th year of touring high-quality and powerful theatre for children and young people.

This funding makes much of our work possible, enabling us to reach audiences across the UK with challenging new writing, often in places with little or no access to the arts. We will continue to keep placing children and young people at the heart of all we do, exploring the contemporary issues that affect them the most.

Natalie Wilson, Artistic Director of Theatre Centre said:

“We are thrilled Theatre Centre continues to be part of ACE's National Portfolio of arts organisations, museums and libraries.

We have worked hard over the last three years to create outstanding new plays and take them to young audiences across the country in an increasingly challenging climate, yet our audiences are growing and we have big ambitions for the next funding period which will take Theatre Centre into its 69th year.

Thank you to Arts Council England, to everyone who supports us, works with us and comes to see our work. We couldn't do it without you.”
